Invalid Syntax when clicking Outlook Express WWW link

Evan Joanette

Folks,

I've read a few articles about an "Invalid Syntax" error in Internet
Explorer, but they all seem centred around opening an *.EML file.

I'm strictly trying to click on WWW address in newsgroup posts in
Outlook Express. I'd say 75% give me the invalid syntax error...
though, when I copy and paste the same links into Internet Explorer,
they launch no problem.

This started after installing SP2. I've got the latest versions of
everything. Any ideas?

Internet Explorer Title Bar states INVALID SYNTAX ERROR. Web page
appears as the following.

The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for might have been removed or had its name
changed.
Please try the following:
Open the s: home page, and then look for links to the information you
want.
If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is
spelled correctly.
If you still cannot open the page, click the Internet Explorer
Search button to look for similar sites.

There appears to be no commonality between links that WILL open up fine
and those that will not.
