Invalid COA and Moduslink

In november i bought a HP Pavilion laptop with preinstalled Windows MCE 2005.
It works fine and that is not the problem. The problem comes as i wish to
use my upgraderight to windows vista through moduslink. I ordered windows
vista through their website the 31st of december last year. Everything was
filled in correctly and nothing came back alarming. The orderstatus was set
to confirmed on the moduslink site until late 22 january when it all of a
sudden stated that my COA was invalid according to microsoft.

Therefor i called Moduslink who couldnt answer anything more then that
microsoft would contact me somehow - they didnt know how or when. As well i
learnt that if Microsoft later found my COA valid i would have to reorder -
causing me another 6-8 weeks of deliverytime cause of their error.

I've been in touch with Swedish HP and Microsoft who says they dont know
nothing and cant do nothing. And ive been in contact with moduslink on a
number of occasions causing me high phonebills as their phonenumber isnt
toll-free from sweden.

Now two weeks later i have heard nothing from Microsoft and when i talked to
Moduslink last night they said nothing new.

As to my question it is the following - how can i make Microsoft take
responsibility for their error and correct their mistake? Where to phone and
what to do?

Since this is a HP PC, you need/should be dealing with HP for they are
the ones who normally should:

1) Provide you with a valid COA. You MCE is OEM by HP.
2) Provide you with the Vista upgrade voucher.

If you can not get satifaction, I would, myself, consider contacting
Microsoft Piracy line and "denouce" HP. It would not be surpising to
see Microsoft/HP "jump" thru hoops to get this resolved.

You're issue is with HP and moduslink. I don't see how MS can help. If
your OS passes WGA and is activated then there is no problem with the
product key as far as MS is concerned.

The problem is that Moduslink answer is that Microsoft has listed my COA as
bad. And only Microsoft can remove that flag.

From swedish HP the answer is that Moduslink is the only ones who deals with
this and that its not HP that delivers windows. HP:s view is of course
incorrect but what can i do.

Problem:

HP answers that windows is valid and that its not their fault and that they
have nothing to do with moduslink (swedish suipport don't understand anything)

As HP sees it they have provided me with what they are supposed to. The
problem lies in the fact that Microsoft has listed the COA as bad to
moduslink and from moduslink only answer is that they cant do anything and
neither can HP - only Microsoft can unlist it as invalid.

So the piracy hotline version of the solution is the only one that could
actually work.

Moduslink will try anything possible to force you to pay extra for Vista
upgrade. They are running a business afterall right?

You should pursue them until you get satisfaction and if necessary take
them to court.

MS has nothing to do with OEM OS.

Sorry I don't know what to suggest.
