Bad COA

I purchased for a client, an upgrade version of Windows XP Professional, and
the Product key comes up invalid during installation. I purchased this from
New Egg, so I feel fairly certain that it is legit. How can I contact a live
person from microsoft to get another COA or a replacement?

Good day

Hi Dean,
There are tow Reasons;

1-MS Product Key caseSensItive, O-0,1-I,B-8,S-5,so make somebody else with
my respect to yourself to read the Produc tKey with you,and look for Caps
Lock .
2- If the Software Defective take it back to the Shop where you bought it
from and replace it.
Hope this helps
Good Luck

Dean;
Look very closely.
S-5, B-8, I-1, O-0, G-6 and others look similar.
Have someone else try, sometimes another set of eyes and fingers can get it
right.

Are you using the CD that came with that Product Key?
There are different types of each and they are not interchangeable.

Otherwise contact the seller.
If you purchased OEM, Microsoft may not be able to help at all.

Thanks all. Already used the "other pair of eyes" (dyslexia can rear it's
ugly head) also, have had lots of experience with the (B/8) syndrome and
think I have that one covered as well. And yes, you are right the COA for
Microsoft products are not case sensitive. As an OEM System Builder, I've
loaded my share. I just don't know who to contact for a "Retail" product.

Thanks again, Dean

Hi Dean,
My Apology for n't being clear on the " Case Sensitive" issue,I meant the
Letters & Numbers are?,and beleive me in the case of the Caps Lock,some
Systems are funy about it,it proved worth while considering these little
things it can make a difference with some OSs.
If you or your Customer have the Bill,I think they should (the Retrailer)
replace it for you. Try the nice approach with them and see, if not as the
other user said try Microsoft.
Good luck
