Interruptions after new Windows XP installation.

Hi.

I just installed the latest Windows XP version available.
Now once in while after an operation that uses a lot of memory for example
my Logitech MX1000 cordless mouse starts interrupt.
I don't know how to explain it is like stop and ago like there are very
short interruptions.
And not only the mouse, I also can noticed when I shut down the system there
are also interruptions in the sound that plays on exit.
After a restart it is ok again for a while and then I don't know what
triggers it.
Sometimes I can even use it for longer without problems also for a few
sessions and then again there are the interruptions and as I said after a
restart it's ok again.
I reinstalled 3 times now but this always happens again.
Hopefuly somone in here can help me to fix this.

Thanks in advance.

How about providing some details about the computer, such as
the size of the installed RAM, the size of the hard drive and
the paging file, video card and size of video memory, etc.?

Have you done a thorough check for malware in safe mode running a recent
anti-virus program with up to date definitions and a combination of
other programs to look for spwyare, adware, etc? Here are some links

Hi.

Thanks for both of your replies.
The computer is a Toshiba Sattelite P-30 notebook with a 80 GB hard drive,
1024 MB RAM and ATI Radeon 128 MB graphics.
Sorry but I don't know what information to provide for the paging file.
It's C:\pagefile.sys and that's all I know about it.
I can assure you that there is no spy or adaware or malware and no virus
present.
As I said in the begining it's a fresh Windows installation.
What I also noticed is when I have my external USB backup drive connected
after copying a large amount of data by doing a Ghost backup while the backup
is in process or afterwards I get sometimes these interruptions.
If you need more details please let me know.
Hopefuly you can help me solve this problem.

Thanks again.
