Internet Time through work servers

R

Ronan

I am running Win XP SP2 at work.
We access the internet through a proxy server, which requires a
username and password.

How can I get the Internet Time tab on the Date and Time properties to
use this proxy server, including the username and password.

No direct connection is available at all, so I am just getting the
message : "An error occurred while Windows was synchronizing with <time
server>"

Hope someone can help.

Cheers,
Ronan.

You can't. Time uses UDP, it doesn't establish a connection. Try setting
your time server to one of your DNS servers: Often DNS servers will run
time servers as well as a matter of convenience and you should be using
that one anyway (always use the clock closest to you to help distribute the
time load).
