Internet Explorer Window Closes

After turning my computer on. The first couple chances
at opening up internet explorer, the browser opens, loads
the first page and then closes itself. After the 4th or
5th time it will start to work properly. Very
frustrating, any help would be appreciated.

Running Windows XP home edition with SP2 installed.

Assuming no malware on your computer, I'll
first try clearing the IE cache and history.

If that doesn't work, then I'd try changing the
home page.

If that still solve it, then I'd try safe mode and
depending on the results troubleshoot from there.
