Internet Explorer Shutdown - error sending report

hI am running Windows 98 2nd Edition, on Roadrunner broadband.

Within the last two weeks, I have been subject to my computer shutting down
IE as follows:

Example: I might go into the Fox news site, and click on to a news article.
Within the Fox site, I am slowly redirected to the article, and as the page
attempts to come up, the screen sometimes shows the Fox background scheme,
but no article to read. Then, I hit refresh, and sometimes the article comes
up, and sometimes a page comes up that says the program is shutting down and
asks me if I want to send an error report to microsoft. When I send the
error, the site shuts down and the start page comes back up. This thing
occurs after I am within a site, and attempt to move around within the site,
and, otherwise, the machine seems to be operating properly.

Has anyone experienced this, and can you help me through this most annoying
problem?

Are you accessing any streaming media within the web page, ASF files
specifically?

I can't offer any help, but I am having that same issue.
Win2K, IE6

Nothing specific.
I think you still have free support for Windows 2000, don't you?
Why not call Microsoft tech support (1-800-936-5700), and they should be
able to help you. Windows 98 is no longer a free tech support, which is why
I'm here.

Thanks Don. You've given me a whole lot to digest, but I think I'm on the
right track now.
