Internet Explorer Script Error

I have recently started receiving Internet Explorer
Script Error messages with regularity while browsing with
IE 6.0 build 2. I have followed the normal procedures for
addressing this (i.e. Internet Options, Advanced, Disable
Script Debugging and uncheck Display a Notification ...)
but the problem continues. I even deleted these keys in
the registry to get them to repopulate, with no
resolution. Any advice?

I had heard that there is a pop-up stopper in this new
build of IE, but am unable to find information on how it
works. I currently use a freeware pop-up stopper (and
have for some time). Any chance there is a conflict
between IE's stopper and this one? It does appear that in
some cases when I disable my pop-up stopper, the errors
don't occur.

Start with this update.
Microsoft's Scripting download
Get the latest. Two download versions are available for Windows Script 5.6.
The first version requires Windows 2000, XP; the second version requires
Microsoft Windows 98, Millenium Edition (Me), or NT 4.0.
Choose the download appropriate for your operating system.

If still no joy, the post the complete and exact error message.
It could be caused by some parasites or some other issues.

No joy!

The error message is a standard one which varies from web
page to web page as may be appropriate.

For example, on www.orbitz.com:

Internet Explorer Script Error
An error has occured in the script on this page.
Line: 45
Char: 1
Error: Unspecified error.
Code: 0
URL: http://www.orbitz.com
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
YES NO

For example, on www.orbitz.com:

I think there may be a coding error with that site.

My symptom is a warning message that the site is trying
open an Intranet file. That's a new symptom for me.
Usually the message is something about trying to access
an Intranet location which I usually interpret to mean About:Blank
as I have that marked as a Local Intranet site.

I think that I would have to activate the script debugger to figure out
what this message is for. I suspect it may be something to do with
Cookie processing but I haven't tried to see if the Cookie processing
routine is at the same line number that you have. BTW apart from
that dialog window (Ok or Cancel) there is no indication of an error
after the page finishes rendering.

BTW the settings for the Pop-up Blocker in XPsp2RC2
is on the Privacy tab. Simplest way to access it: Alt-V,v,Alt-S
Blocking it has no effect on my symptom.
