Internet Explorer not opening

I have windows xp home edition and internet explorer will not open. I check
task manager and It's not there either. When I click on the icon or try to
run it, shows real quick on the task manager, then disapear. I ran
anti-virus AVG, Ad-aware, Ewido anti-malware. Please help me.

Booted into Safe Mode with Networking, run a /thorough/ check for
hijackware.
