internet explorer has stopped working

Microsoft Windows msg reads "A problem caused the program to stop working
correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
available". Please help. My son can still get access to internet via his
laptop hence broadband etc is fine. How can I get my Internet Explorer back?
