Internet Explorer cannot open site. Action canceled (or annuled).

Hi... for a few days I haven't been able to open most
websites because I get an error message that
says: "Internet Explorer cannot open site. Action
canceled" (or annuled). My sistem is in Spanish, and the
message reads: "Internet Explorer no puede abrir el sitio
web. Operacion anulada", so I don't know if the
translation is correct, but it's not the same as "action
canceled"... I run Windows XP so I cannot uninstall and
reinstall IE 6... What can I do?
