Internet Explorer and Auto Dail

Hi,

Im havinging an issue with Internet Explorer and the auto
connect feature. What is happening when it is turned on to
either dial when a network is not present or when its set
to always dial my default connection, Internet Explorer
just hangs there and the dial up dialog box does not show
up.
Yet when you dial up manually it works fine.

I have tried numerous things and even down to a repair
install of windows xp and that has not corrected the
problem. Also tried to recreate dialup connection and it
works untill you reboot or shut down the computer
Aslo have installed sp1 with all latest updates from
windows updates

This is for a dial up internet account.

Just an update, I've seem to have narrowed it down to a
conflict between it and Computer Associats Etrust
Antivirus. If anyone has any input would be greatly
appreciated
