Internet Explorer 6 does not open when connect to Internet

If I am connected to the Net I cannot open IE. My laptop
is new, bought in April from Dell. The problem began in
August. I get an error message that reads: Internet
Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We
are sorry for the Inconvenience. When I click to see what
that error report contains, this is what I get: Error
signature AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106
ModName:flt.dll
ModVer: 2.0.0.3 Offset: oooo23c1.

Please post any information you might have to help me with
this problem.

I've just did a search for flt.dll and it is not on my
W2K. I had a similar problem months ago and had to resort
to paid support. Just do a search for that dll and then
rename it to flt.old then reboot. It should resolve your
problem. If you find that you have new problems then you
can easily rename the file back to the old name.
