Internet explorer 6.0

I was uninstalling 6.0 on my windows ME using the add and remove program
when it quite uninstalling half way through. IE does not show up in the add
and remove programs file anymore. I just purchased Windows XP home version
and installed it on my computer but it would ot reinstall IE because it says
I have the latest version which is true but some files have beeen deleted by
the uninstall program. I have tried changing the 1 to 0 in my registry with
no success. I have ran virus scan and spyware scan which were both clean. I
have tried typing all the information in my RUN function but nothing seems to
work. I have tried going into DOS and deleting it but something must be
hidden or remaining that the XP picks up on to say I already have the latest
version. HELP.................

Hi,

What exactly were you trying to accomplish? Installing WinXP would have
totally replaced the system files set and IE with it - did you mess with
this installation after the upgrade? You can reinstall IE in a WinXP
installation by right-clicking the ie.inf file in the C:\windows\inf
directory and choosing install.
