Somebody has got to have a solution for this.
I have DSL connection to the internet, so it's on 24/7
I also use a multiple boot system, ME/W2K Pro/ and XP pro
I always keep things updated, (still waiting on the jury
for sp2 on xp).
I also use a hardware firewall and zonealarm for software
firewall.
If I let the pc go idle IE refuses to recognize my home
page, it's my ISP's home page www.scattercreek.com
it says either Host refuses the connection, and or Web
page not found. These are the things I have tried with no
long term resolution. ping my home page, ipconfig /renew,
ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew
I've even tried hard coding my ISP TCP/IP data in my
internet connection data, it won't find the page.
I select Automatically assign TCP/IP
all three operating systems have this problem, which tends
to make me believe it's not windows, but my ISP says they
see no problem. HELP!!!
