Internet browser expl. 6.0.2

When using my explorer(v. 6.0.2) for web browsing in my
laptop I was able to save images as jpeg files strait
from the web page. Now I can only save images in .bmp(
altough the file in question is a .jpeg file).In the
small window that shows the type of picture file before
you save it does not even offer options for .jpeg. I have
another computer to check if that particular image
is .jpeg or .bmp. What can I do to change the settings in
the explorer?
