internet access

I automatically downloaded the MS Windows updates today and now Word cannot
access the internet. I took off my firewall temporarily to see if that was
the problem but that doesn't seem to be it. ANy ideas?

Thanks!

FWIW it screwed up some of my macros which interfaced Outlook and Word. You
may have to do what I did and roll back Windows to a time when it all worked
before the update. Set Windows update to only download the updates and not
to install them until you approve them.

Thanks for your response. Would you mind telling me how to roll back Windows?

Thanks.

You run System Restore which you should find under the Windows start menu >
accessories > system tools. However it has to be active to do this and I
cannot remember whether Windows sets it active by default.

Alternatively, if you know which update is causing the problem, you can
selectively uninstall it. See also
