Internal Sparq drive and Win XP Home

Would like to connect my 1 Gb Sparq drive via the IDE cable as a slave on the
secondary IDE (CDrw drive is the Master on the secondary IDE). Does anyone
have any information or tips to get this drive up and running? I've read
where it could cause my hard drive to crash? Appreciate any suggestions.

Forget it! Syquest went "bust" years ago and you can not seem to get any
drivers.

I don't know about it causing your hard drive to crash, that seems
unlikely. However, the SparQ drive technology is old (even when it
was new it didn't work well).

You can try the Syquest web site (YES they still maintain a web site
with drivers for the SparQ). The ide version of the SparQ may work OK
but I would not hook it to the secondary ide port as a slave to the
CDRW drive. Hook it instead as a slave (use jumpers) to your HDD on
the primary ide channel. Don't know what you could use it for
though, nowadays you can buy a 1gb USB 2.0 flash pen drive for less
than $100 US.

I checked at the Sparq Support page and they said there were no drivers
available for this drive. I have a second hard drive installed on the
Primary IDE as "slave".
Think I'll forget about hooking it up. Thanks for the input!
