HELP PLEASE ! Error Messages Stated Within.

Hi, My computer will restart without reason or warning or simply crash, or
programs such as windows media player, IE, Mozilla get shutdown with a
"Send", "Don't Send" option. I have the following errors:--

"The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\D."

"A parity error was detected on \Device\Ide\IdePort0."

"The device 'Maxtor 6Y160P0'
(IDE\DiskMaxtor_6Y160P0__________________________YAR41BW0\3459423247354533202020202020202020202020)
disappeared from the system without first being prepared for removal."

The user action given to me was that I should check or replace the cable to
the hard drives.

However, there is no user action given for this one:

"Error code 10000050, parameter1 eb00b50c, parameter2 00000000, parameter3
804e7815, parameter4 00000002."

Also, when I enter Bios, I can see the relevant hard disk in the IDE Primary
Master and IDE Primary Slave Section and IDE Secondary Master. Only the IDE
Secondary Slave field says "None".

I have completed Checkdisk with box options tick, and also reformatted my
Primary Master Drive (also the one with the OS), yet this problem still
haunts me.

How do I resolve this problem? Should I get new cable for the hard drives
then?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot !

Your hard disk is getting ready to die, replace it.
in order for your secondary slave to be displayed you would have to have
four hard drives installed two for each ide channel, do You have four hd's
installed?
I suggest you replace the primary master. (the one with the operating system).

Well only 3 is displayed in BIOS, only the IDE Secondary Slave is missing..

Also, I notice a blue flicker(just once) on the screen when ever windows XP
is loading (Before going into desktop view)

Thanks!
