Even more confusing....I have just deleted the account that I was using to
see if I could sort. Used my old account, and it processed the email from the
outbox, even though it wasnt the right account - but now creating a new
message from that account and trying to send I get this message:, and ideas?
completed baffled this end?

<sigh> - the clue is in the error message. Authenticate your SMPT server in
Email account settings.....

The error message seems rather self-explanatory.
Did you go to that link (http://www.btyahoo.com/smtp)
and make the appropriate setting change?

Unfortunately the information at that URL seems to bear no relation to
what the user actually sees when they log in to Yahoo using their BT
OpenWorld account email/password (and is different to when I log in
using my standard Yahoo account). My mother is having an identical
issue, having been sending email happily up till now.

It seems like the SMTP server is now saying "you need to add your
email address to your BT/Yahoo account", but after logging in using
that account name/password we can't find any option to add a new email
address - if you create a new Profile then the only email option is
your btopenworld email address with a radio button next to it. No
ability to add another email address.

Since I don't have a BT/Yahoo account, I have no way of looking
into this any deeper. You will need to contact BT for assistance.
