IntelliMouse Explorer 4 (v6 software)

Just taken delivery of new computer - Windows XP Home with MS Office 2003 Pro
software. Alas my mouse's 5 buttons will not work using via USB (which I
prefer), have to use PS\2 Port instead. Problem is that when computer is
turned off, mouse is still glowing R E D !

Would prefer to use this devise via USB rather than PS\2 port.

Can't see anything under KB at Microsoft. Can anyone advise a solution ?

Thanks,

Your motherboard is providing power to your ps/2 port.

You'll need to turn that off in your bios (look for Wake on PS/2 mouse port
or something to that effect).
You may also have to manipulate jumpers to completely cut off electricity
flow to your ps/2 port. That information, if it is available, should be in
your motherboard's manual.
