Intalling Outlook 2007

I set up an "msn.com" email address for Outlook 2007 and I can send and
receive with no problem. However, I don't have the functionality of flagging
messages, notification of mail receipt (sound or tray), etc that I would
expect with a "primary" account.

I don't believe Outlook Connector-mediated accounts allow flagging. I'm not
sure if new mail notification works for Connector-mediated accounts. Do you
have the MSN account set as your delivery location?

I'm not sure how to set MSN as the delivery account. All I did when I got
Outlook was set up a new account as instructed, and Outlook established a new
Inbox (labeled Inbox at ******@msn.com). There is another Inbox (labeled
"Inbox") that is empty, and delivered mail does not go to it. I have noticed
that if I select that Inbox, the toolbar changes to give me "Categorize",
"Flagging" etc, but that is not true in my "MSN Inbox"

I have not downloaded the Connector...I would try that if I thought it would
solve the problem.

Thank you

How are you connecting to MSN if not via the Outlook Connector? Using it
should give you the ability to specify your MSN account as the delivery
location, making those folders the default folders.

I just learned about the Connector download as I was researching this
problem. I have had the same MSN email account for many years, and have used
it through Outlook Express, Windows Live, and earlier versions of Outlook.
All I did was get Outlook 2007 and then add my existing MSN account to it.
It sends and receives properly, but apparently did not set itself as the
default or primary account. By the way, it is the only account and address I
use with Outlook.

Perhaps I should download the Connector and see what happens. I just
thought there might be an easier fix.

Thank you for your help.
