InstallShield Update Service?

Thanks for the reply, only thing installed recently was Samsung phone tools
and bluetooth drivers.
It was in MSCONFIG Startup so I stopped it from there.

Should I allow it or be wary of it?
One application that uses it is Earthlink Total Access 2005, and there are
many others. It is not spyware nor adware. You may be able to limit it in
the relevent application that you must have installed on your machine.
Simply check for updates less frequently or not at all. If you stop the
service from running you will never be informed of updates, no matter how
critical. Granted, this may improve your performance slightly, especially if
you are doing a lot of gaming or CPU-intensive applications.
