Installing software directly into the root C:\ directory

I am looking at a software that has limited capabilities on Vista. I must
have Vista Business or Home Premium (which I have). I then have to set up a
"Super Administrator", which I can't figure that one out. I am administrator
but when I go to download the software, I have to download directly into the
root C:\ directory and NOT in the Program Files; but when I try to do this it
says I do not have permission and I should contact my administrator.....since
I am the administrator I am completely stuck!!!!!!

Hi,

Try right-clicking on the installer executable and selecting "Run as
administrator". You should then be able to install it to C:\.

If this particular program is not Vista-compatible, then you may need to run
it as administrator too.

In Vista, even though you are an administrator, you actually run in a
standard user context, unless and until a program or process requires
administrative privileges and invokes the UAC prompt.

And adding to Jane's post re compatibilty> Right-click on the Program's
setup.exe>Select Properties> Compatibility> and select XP SP2 or whatever.
