Installing office 97 on XP

Guest

I bought new laptop. got version of MS office 97 pro that ive had for a few
computers. never had problems insalling on previous pcs with XP as the OS.
When trying to install i get "htmlmarq.ocx unable to register itself in
system registry" after that i just get office was not installed succesfully.

Now the computer doesnt recognice the sftware as being there, but it is in
and ahve managed to go through manually and put the icons on the desktop. all
programmes seem to work, well they open. admittedly i havent used them yet
though

Apart from access when i try to open it i get "Microsoft Acceaa can't find
the Visual Basic for Applicationa dynamic-link library (DLL) Vba332

Any suggestions how to get round this?

Have a look at using the XP Program Compatibilty Wizard. It is accessed from
Start >>All Programs>>Accessories.
But before running it, bring Help and Support Center (from Start menus).
Then do a search on "program compatibility wizard". Select "getting older
programs to run on Windows XP".

Read that section of Help and support. Especially about using the wizard to
actually help in program setup (installation).
You ought to consider de-installing Office 97, then installing it with the
wizard under compatibility mode.

Be very careful to get updates/ service updates for this suite at MS Office
Update or Microsoft Updates.
