Installing Macromedia Flash Player.

Trevor Jowett

I cannot load Macromedia Flash Player using Vista. I get the message it
has loaded successfully , but it hasn't. I also downloaded and save the
file for subsequent installation. It seemed to load, but again without
success. My securiuty level is set to default. Has anybody else
encountered this problem- and more helpfully found a solution?

Thanks in antication of any help.

I had a similar problem. You need Adobe Flash Player V9. You can download an
installer version here at
http://www.softwarepatch.com/network-security/flashdownload-security

FYI, I noticed that if I turned off protected mode in internet explorer, the
Adobe website could download the flash player, otherwise it would just sit
there, and no flash or web streaming content would play.

Its Disk Cleanup / Downloaded Program Files that breaks Flash.

I had the same problem as you. I kept getting the Flash download
window telling me that I had installed Flash successfully but when I
went to a site that wanted Flash I was told it wasn't there and to
download it! Catch 22. I tried changing every setting that I could
think of but to no avail but then read a few hints on various web
sites.

To cut a long story short, I uninstalled Flash using the utility on
the Adobe web site and then reinstalled it from the web link and
suddenly everything worked properly. Don't ask me why but that was
the answer for me.
