Installing fonts

Hi,

I'm trying to install a new font in Windows 2000 and I've
copied the files to the fonts directory and they still
don't appear in Word and other programs.
In the directory they still appear with the original file
name, not the font name as the other recognised fonts.
Anyone knows how do I install the fonts??

You install fonts by using the fonts program from the start->Settings.
