Installing Error

I finally successfully downloaded the patch from the
Microsoft site but now I can't install it. Every time I
try to open the patch I get an error message
xpsp1hfm.exe is not a valid win32 application. Does
anyone know what happened or how I can get the patch to
install?

Actually, sounds like she's receiving the same message
that my mother received at the end of downloading the 32-
bit version.

Please understand, we know we have the 32-bit
version....we have attempted to download the patch for the
32-bit version of Windows XP....we click on open and the
download starts.....when the dialog box counts down to
zero to indicate that the download is complete, we are
getting a message that says that it is not a valid win32
application.

Repeat, we are trying to download the 32-bit version for
Windows XP....we have the 32-bit version of Windows
XP....we are still getting the not valid win32 application
message.

What can we do to successfully download the patch?
