installing a software program

I am trying to install a blue clues prescool program and
when I hit install it comes back with application error
saying wowexec caused a general protection fault in
module mmsystem.dll at 000a:0032.

I have checked with the blue clues company but they tell me it is a microsoft problem. I am able to install it on my computer downstairs, but are unable to install it on my kids computer. both systems have windows xp.

Did they tell you what the problem is? I'm hopeful the had a clue based
on their experience with their code. (Or did they simply want to get rid
of your call?)

Something is different between the two computers. I can't from afar
without any information or knowledge of error reports help any more. Sorry.
