Installing '95 compatible software on XP

I'm trying to install my 110 years of National Geographic, which is 95/98 compatible on my new machine, which is running on XP Home Edition. National Geographic says to run the compatibility wizard and choose Windows 98/ME, which I've done. The software still does not install.

Suggestions? Thanks

Some older programs will work some won't. If you've formatted with an ntfs
file system that makes it even worse. Try also setting compatability for 256
colors/640x480. 1/2 of my kids programs won't run no matter what. So I put
98 and xp on their computer.

Start button/All Programs/Accessories/Program Compatibility Wizard. When
the Wizard opens click the NEXT button, then select the option: I want to
use the program on the CD_ROM drive, click the NEXT button, select: Windows
95, then click the NEXT button. If the program still doesn't install, post
any error message.

I have had the same problem in the past. Just like Mike said some will work some will not, regardless what you try. Good luck.
