Installer and new email messages ??? why?

Hi - I'm using Outlook 2003 with Vista. During the download of the email
message, Windows installer pops up and tries to install/configure Microsoft
Office Home and Student 2007 ???? Why ?? How do I turn this off ? My
messages always download just fine - but it's beginning to get a little
annoying....any suggestions?

Thanks
Ann

well, not that I'm aware of.... It may have been preloaded on my new PC
w/Vista - but when I look at my Program files I don't see it listed anywhere
(not even under "Office") That's one of the reasons I'm confused. Is there
some secret file I need to look in....msconfig....something like that?
BTW, thanks for trying to help me...I appreciate it

You might want to read the documentation that came with your pc to discover
what software was preinstalled
Did you install only outlook2003 or was it office2003 you installed, if you
installed Office what happens when you start Word, and what does
Word>Help>About say re the version?

msconfig is a utility for managing startups and services etc, its not
something you should be 'messing' with

Thanks - I hadn't thought to look at add/remove programs - Home and Student
2007 was there - I tried to uninstall it, but it says the file is corrupt -
that's probably where my problems lies....thanks again

You possibly corrupted the installation by installing Office2003
Uninstall Office2003
Remove H&S, or repair it using the cd that should be amongst the stuff
received with your PC, then reinstall outlook2003 *only* by a custom
installation of Office2003
