I have installed XP SP2. Microsoft Windows version read this
Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp2.030422-1633: Service Pack 1).

i) Pop-blocker option does not shows under IE/TOOLS option and i still get
pop-up ads.
ii) Why i still see SP1 in windows version, all components of SP2 were
installed successfully.

Thanks,

winver shows my info as:
Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp2.030422-1633: Service Pack 1)

I *do* *not* have XP SP2 and neither do you.

Start | Run | Type: appwiz.cpl | OK |
Do you see SP2 listed?

You have SP1 installed, not SP2 - it should read v5.1 (Build
2600_xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158: Service Pack 2)

You don't have SP2 installed. It would be
Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm040803-2158 : Service Pack 2

I found the problem with SP2 not installed properly. I had "TV Media" spyware
installed on my PC which was preventing me from installing SP2. With TV Media
running, Microsoft web site for SP2 tells me that i have SP2 installed on my
machine. After painfully removing "TV Media", restarting pc, Microsoft SP2
web site shows me correct option to install SP2.

I found a link at "onlinepcfix.com" that says TV Media spyware block sp2
installation.

Yep, spyware is one major cause for bad SP2 installs. Glad you got it
fixed.
