Installation won't start when booting from DVD

Whenever I boot from the official Windows Beta 2 DVD from Microsoft, I get
the "Windows is loading files..." screen. However, after this is finished, I
get the windows vista blue background (with my cursor) and then everything
just stops. It sits on the blue background for hours. Any help would be
appreciated.

Note: I have also tried installing through windows XP, but when the computer
restarts...I get a similar situation. So there is obviously a problem
loading the DVD on startup. Perhaps because I'm on a laptop?

I had a crazy idea of leaving it on overnight to see what happens, and it
worked! It took about 2 hours to load the installation screen, who knows
why! Anyway, now I have other problems now that it is installed...
