Help!
I am unable to install SamSung CLP-300 printer to my HP Pavillion dv900 Lap
Top with Vista Ultimate 32/64 bit.
I have successfully installed on my desk top with Vista Home Premium
installed, but no luck with the lap top!
I have tried installation the CD, I have downloaded the Vista Driver (so
called compatable with my OS! ) from samsung site, with no success. Keep
getting error messages:
"The printer can't install the Samsung CLP-300 kernel mode printer driver.
To obtain a driver that is compatable with the version of windows that you
are running, contact the manafacurer"
"Windows found diver software for your device but encountered an error while
attempting to install it-The pinter driver is not compatable with a policy on
your computer that blocks NT 4.0 drivers" "Contact your device manafacturer"
I have contacted both Samsung & HP, they both say it is a windows problem
contact Microsoft, who are uncontactable during the hours I am available to
do so
Iam going nuts!! I really need my printer, PLEASE HELP!!!

Cas,

Try right clicking the file and selecting Run as Administrator (words to
that effect). Post back on results.

Cas,

That's a bummer. I can only respond to what I see in your post, and the
operating system you say you have is Vista Ultimate 32/64 bit. It has to be
one or the other. Maybe that's the problem. The driver must be either 32
bit compatible or 64 bit compatible. Which is it? The error message you're
getting seems to indicate that there is some incompatibility involved. If
you installed this driver on your other system, is it 32 bit or 64 bit? If
it installed in that other system, then it compatible with that system. I
don't know whether those observations help or not, but perhaps they ring a
bell with you. Let us know.

Freddy, thankyou for your assistance, stuck the right note, Vista home (Desk
top) is 32 bit O/S Vista Ultimate (Lap Top is 64 bit O/S, hence the
incompatability with the driver. SamSung doesnt seem to have a 64 Bit driver,
is there any way around this?
Thanks again
Cas
