Install W2k server as 2nd OS on external USB-HDD

Hi,

I am running XP on my laptop and want to install Windows 2000 server
as 2nd OS on external USB 2.0-HDD. If I want to install it from XP, I
get the message that XP is newer than W2k and it stopps. If I boot
from my w2k-CD-Rom, the USB-HDD can´t be found (it is already formated
as NTFS)
I dont have a floppy-drive at the moment but I can burn other
boot-CD-ROMs

thanks and regards
Ragnar

No, it won't install. The USB drivers do not load during the setup&boot
stages.

So am I right: it doesn´t helpf if I create a boot-CD-Rom which includes my
USB-drivers and then I start win2000-setup? The driver is not used?

Correct. The Win2K setup program is not DOS based.
