Install printer on Win98

We use Epson Sylus Photo R210 on all our PC's, I have an older PC with 98'
and I can't get the printer to work after the driver install, it looks right
then I get add printer failed... I can't even print to an R210 that's at
another PC over the network. The install it easy with XP but I can't work it
out with 98 even after selecting the printer from a list.????

Sorry but I don't know if you are trying to install a printer driver for
a printer attached to the machine or for a printer that is attached to a
different machine on the network. I am fairly confident that the printer
is an Epson Stylus Photo R210. I Am also fairly confident that the
computer ipon which you are attempting to do this printer driver install
has some version of Windows 98. Now for the uncertain part: is the
printer local, that is connected to the same box or is it attached to
another computer, one with Windows XP, located elsewhere on the network?

It would help if you would clarify the issue by telling us what the
operayting system is on the box you are using (Windows 98, 98SE, Me); if
the printer is attached to that box or another networked computer. If a
networked computer, what version of XP and if a peer-to-peer workgroup
or a network with a server-workstation topography. Also, the source of
the printer drivers being used and a description of what you have tried.

Thanks.

Assuming this is a USB printer, you may need to obtain later version USB
port and controller drivers. In win 98 days, many of the printer and other
device mfrs suppled custom USB drivers that will cause problems with later
devices and drivers.
