Install Loop Frustration

I tried to reinstall Windows XP Home Edition on my
Presario. During the installation process it gets stuck
with 9 minutes to go. It never finishes. If I reboot, it
always goes back to
the reinstallation process w/ 39 minutes remaining and it
asks for the XP CD. I place it in and it goes fine until
9 minutes and stops again. I tried it over and over. If I
select cancel when it asks for the
CD, then it says fatal error, then goes to an error log.
I can do nothing but press ok from there and the computer
restarts to the same point in the reinstallation process.
I cannot get out of this loop. Help!

Install xp cd,open BIOS,open boot prefrence,set to boot the cdrom as
first priority,then exit page,save changes and exit BIOS,boot to xp cd,
at info page select,install xp,new copy,dont repair,delete existing
partition,create,then let xp reformat and install.
