Insert Template Items - NOT INTUITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made a nice web site with FrontPage 2000 with Shared Borders. As I am
accustomed to seeing with my 22 years of Microsoft products, newer versions
have disabled that capability and substituted it with an extremely
complicated process.
I took the time to modify a template, save it, and apply it to a plane web
page to make a new site in FrontPage 2003. But, when I try to insert the
navigation buttons that are in the template, I get an avalanche of choices
for the buttons, but NONE of them were the ones I took time to create in my
template.
All I want to do is insert the template items I made in the template.

Are you using a DWT (Dynamic Web Template)? If so, can you publish this
new page and give a link to it? Then we can see how you have
constructed the template.
