"Insert hyperlink" very slow in FP2003

Whenever I try to insert a hyperlink, it takes about 10-15 seconds for
the dialog box to get populated with the list of files on the remote
server. I notice that it's also transmitting about 250K of data
through my Internet connection every time it does this as well. By the
way, this is NOT a big web -- just 100 files or so total.

I never had this problem in FP2002 -- it's just since I installed
FP2003. Also, it happens even on tiny webs (i.e. webs with just two or
three one-line web pages) -- though here the delay is just 6-7 seconds.

I've tried all of the usual remedies, bit still no luck:

1) Find and delete all FP Temp Files
2) Find and delete all hidden *.web files
3) Find and delete the file CMDUI.PRF
4) Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins
5) Run a Repair / Reinstall on FP & IE
6) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, and MS Office

I'm right on the verge of uninstalling FP2003 and going back to FP2002
unless I can get this worked out. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Recalculate the hyperlinks on the local web. Then recalculate on the remote web.
Then synchronize the webs.

( Or do a full publish: local to remote )

Didn't help -- thanks for the suggestion, though.

BTW, when I'm working on this website from another computer at school
-- where there is an extremely fast connection to the server for the
FrontPage web, then it takes just a second or two when I select "Insert
Hyperlink". My guess, then, is that it has something to do with tons
of file/directory information (in my case, useless info) that it's
sending to the FrontPage client, and that I notice this more at home,
where I have a slower connection.

BTW, it's not just 10-15 seconds to show the list of files in the web
when I select " Insert Hyperlink". It's actually more like 30-35
seconds EACH TIME -- even if I've inserted another hyperlink just 20-30
seconds before. This kind of sluggishness is really unacceptable.
Any other suggestions? Again, thanks in advance.

Well, you don't say who your ISP is or what kind of connection your using, but since FP uses the
settings for IE when it connects, here's something to try.
Close FrontPage, IE and OE.

Open a command window and type ipconfig /flushdns and press enter.
Note: there is a space between ipconfig and /flushdns

When done, close the command window, and right click the IE icon on the desktop, select Properties,
and then click Programs.
Click "Reset web Settings" and then in the next pop up *uncheck* "Also Reset my Home page" then
click Yes, OK, and OK.

Reopen FrontPage and see if there's a difference.
