Insert filename - permanently?

Is there way to have Word automatically insert the filename so that it the filename is "permanent"? The problem I run into is this: I can use "Insert AutoText" into the footer so that the filename and path displays in the footer. However, when the document is emailed to someone and they open it, the filename and path then changes to their C:/Temp directory rather than retaining *my* filepath. So is there a way to insert the filename & path without typing it manually
Thanks
