Infrared pairing

Hi

I am able to sync my mobile phone with Outlook on my PC using IR. But I
dont get the connect icon in the tray anymore which i used to at one time
when i bring the two IRs together. Without this, I understand I cannot use
my phone to connect to the internet using GPRS. Any clue as to what could
be missing in the setup?

what brand is the phone? and what software are you using to sync?

Mine is a Nokia 6230. But the issue is about the phone. And i have no
issues with the sync either.

My issue is why is XP not detecting and notifying the presence of an active
IR port in the tray. Could it be some driver issue or any other setting?

I am also using 6230 and I am also having problems in using infra. Instead, I
use a bluetooth adapter on my laptop and use Nokia's software to sync to Outlook

maybe you can try to reinstall the infra drivers
