infrared and bluetooth

can a infrared port on a laptop communicate with bluetooth on another laptop?

Erm, no. Bluetooth to Bluetooth, yes, Infrared to Infrared yes, but one to
the other.... not as far as I am aware. It's easier and a lot cheaper to
use a crossover cable if no network is available.

do you mean a cable linking link like between the printer ports or serial
ports or usb ports?
