Infra Red port config

hi

i am using a Dell laptop with an infra red port running
Windows 2000 Professional SP4. I need to configure the
infra red port to be able to gain access to the internet
via an infra red enabled mobile/celluar phone.

How do I configure the port to do this? Is it just a
question of enabling the port and specifing a COM (COM3)?
How do I set up a specific dial up setting to dial via the
mobile cell phone via infra red and NOT dial via the
onboard modem?

The mobile phone has GPRS fax and data services enabled
its just the OS side I need help with.

I have a similar problem but with me the infra red port
does not see my mobile phone although it recognizes my
PDA ????

Have you had any luck yet?
