Indexing Service

[Guest]

My Indexing Service (cidaemon.exe process) is creating Acr*.tmp files in my
Temp folder.
The size of each file is about 18MB and they are created every 3-4 minutes.
Very fast these files end my free disk space (30GB).

I tried to reinstall the service, reboot but nothing helps.
Can anyone help me fix this?

As a work around do you have something else running that needs the indexing
service? If not disable the indexing service in services.msc. XP runs fine
without it. This is one of the services that often times get's disabled
because it can be a resource hog.

I got the same problem. The cidaemon flooded my TEMP folder with arc*.tmp files every
few times. I finally remove the acrobat reader and reinstall it. Looks like problem
have gone.

Tried to remove Acrobat Reader and Pro and reinstall them, but it didn't help.
The files are still been created in the Temp folder.

Is there any way to fix this without stopping the service?

Acrobat Pro 7.08

7.0 - 7.08 has a security vulnerability, upgrade to 8.x now. Personally, I
still use 5.0 as it is not bloatware like the more recent versions are.

I'm curious. Is there a particular reason you don't want to turn of
indexing service?
