Indexing Drives Conundrum

F

F. Edwin Felty

I don't recall seeing this mentioned before, so here goes...

I have three physical drives on my system:

Drive 0=Maxtor 160 GB with four logical drives (C:, D:, E:, F:)

Drive 1=Seagate 160 GB with four logical drives (G:, H:, I:, J:)

Drive 2=Seagate 320 GB with one logical drive (K:)

For some unknown reason, each time I reboot, logical drives I:, J: and K:
reset the checkmark in the 'Allow indexing of the drive...
(Properties>General at the bottom) I've removed the checkmark and applied
the changes to the entire logical drive countless times, but after each
reboot, it's back. Since the physical drives are both Seagate I looked at
the website, but didn't find anything. Has anyone else seen this
problem...or better know the solution???

Thanks in Advance,

Yes...you are correct and I have disabled the Indexing Service (I forgot to
mention it). I've just never seen the check boxes recheck themselves on
reboot, only on certain logical drives of two different physical drives. I'm
just bumfuzzled!!
