Incorporate SP2 in i386 on HDD?

Hi, my original XP disk is a SP1 variant, so when I rebuild my machine I have
to apply SP2 from CD afterwards. Normally what I do is copy the i386
directory from my original installation CD to a partition on my drive, then
re-point the Registry entry for installation to there, so that I don’t have
to look for the CD if it ever needs to access those files.

However, it occurred to me recently that the i386 directory I've copied over
will be at SP1 level, so if the machine ever installs any files from there
they won’t be the SP2 versions... so can I somehow update the i386 directory
on my HDD to SP2 level, to avoid this?

Hope I've explained what I mean!

Thanks
Roger

Create a slipstreamed CD containing SP2. You can use AutoStreamer available

It is easy to use, fast and effective. Then copy the i386 folder from the
newly created CD to where you would like it to reside on your hard drive.

Thanks Richard - I was vaguely aware that something like that existed, but I
didn't know what! I'll try it tonight.
