incoming messages display as text

I have Office 2003 Teacher & Student Edition installed on 3 PCs. I recently
had to buy a new laptop with VISTA pre-installed (the other machines are
running XP Pro). I am receiving emails from one friend that are supposed to
display in HTML (have pictures embedded into the messages), but when they
arrive at my Oulook 2003 inbox on the VISTA machine, the entire message
displays a ton of text which includes formatting commands, text from the
message, etc.

I have checked these same incoming emails on the other two machines and they
display as they should with the pictures showing along with text.

I have tried to look at every option and searched the Internet without any
success as to why this is happening. The new laptop has the same antivirus
installed (Sophos) as well as the same anti-spam software (Cloudmark Desktop).

Similar messages from other friends also appear correctly on this laptop -
the problem is only with this one friend's emails.

Am I missing something in the options settings? Office installed without a
hitch on this new VISTA machine and the license transferred with no problem
from the old laptop.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Known problem. Expect a publically-available hotfix soon. In the meantime
you still might be able to get it if you call Microsoft at 1-800-936-4900,
press 3 for hotfixes, and tell them you're looking for the hotfix described
in KB951982.
