Suddenly I cannot see any of my inbox messages (but can view subfolders where
I have saved messages). Drafts and sent messages all ok.
Simply says 'there are no items to show in this view'.
I can see number of unread items on LHS.
I cant access/ read any own my emails help!!!!

Tried resetting the view for that folder already?
View-> Arrange By-> Customize...

Otherwise, post some configuration details for us to work with; we're
working in the dark now.

On Vista, the PST is located in %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Outlook by default.

not sure if there are hidden files but i cannot source this - could you be
more specific of the route so i can check if it my error or not?

It's not Vista deciding the location but the version of Outlook. It differs
per version and the OP never stated hers.

That's the exact path. Open Windows Explorer and enter that path in the
Address field. Click Go.

Right, but the OP mentioned "the inbox files". The version of Outlook doesn't
control the default PST location and I thought that's what she was looking to
find.
