Inability to log off / shut down XP

Lately, when I go to log off from my user account in XP, or shut down the
computer entirely, XP will shut down all my programs, and then just stay on
my desktop. It won't let me open any new programs (it says it's shutting
down), but it just stays open.

I think it might have something to do with Norton Systemworks, specifically
ccApp.exe, but I don't know for sure.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try closing all running applications first, then shutting down XP
