I designing a book and I want to be able to view on the screen facing pages
(left and right hand pages). Then, is there a line I can set that corresponds
to the end of the text type area so I can see that the facing pages end in
the same distance.

In Print Preview or Print Layout view, you can choose to view two pages.
These will *not* be facing pages unless you've also enabled "Mirror margins"
(Margins tab of Page Setup), and then only in Print Preview. If you check
the box for "Text boundaries" on the View tab of Tools | Options, your
margins will be outlined, but only in Print Layout view, so the bottom line
is that no, you can't see facing pages *and* text boundaries. Sorry.
